Business Secretary Sajid Javid to visit Marlborough
The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills will be speaking at a dinner in Marlborough, at the invitation of local MP Claire Perry.
Born in Rochdale, one of five sons of a bus driver of Pakistani descent, Sajid Javid held senior roles in Business and Finance before being elected as Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove in 2010.
Rapid promotion followed with Sajid appointed in 2012 as Economic Secretary and then Financial Secretary to the Treasury, before being Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport in 2014.
Following the General Election, Sajid was appointed to his current role.
“The business-led recovery in this country is of paramount importance both locally, and nationally,” said Mrs Perry. “I am sure that it will be a fascinating evening and of particular interest to local businesses.”
