Columnists - George Hosier

George Hosier is the fourth generation of the Hosier family farming at Wexcombe, near Burbage.  His great grandfather bought the farm in 1920. George works with his father, Patric and they employ three fulltime staff.
They farm 1500 acres of varying soils from the greensand of the Pewsey Vale through to thin chalky soils with flints on top of the downland. They grow wheat, barley, peas and oilseed rape and also have a beef suckler herd (calving in March) and a flock of Wiltshire horn sheep (lambing in April).
Visit the farm on Open Farm Sunday (June 7th 2015)
