Kennet U3A June Talk

"Dickens in Wiltshire"

by Keith Hooper
Kennet Valley Hall Lockeridge on 26 June
14:15 to 16:00

Keith was born in 1963 and became interested in poetry and Victorian literature in his thirties.

An under-achiever at school, he rediscovered education and was awarded a MA in 1997.  Picking up David Copperfield, he fell in love with the works of Charles Dickens and the nineteenth century classics.

In 2009, Keith was awarded a doctorate from the University of Exeter and then commissioned by an Oxford publisher to write a biography of Charles Dickens.

Drawing on the contents of his thesis, 'Charles Dickens: Faith, Angels and the Poor' was published in September 2017.

In addition to his writing, he lectures regularly on Victorian literature and his three YouTube lectures have attracted an audience of thousands.

Non Members are welcome, though a donation would be appreciated. Tea and cake will be provided.
