The Marlborough Area Poverty Action Group (MAPAG) in collaboration with Marlborough Churches Together have raised over £1,000 to help disadvantaged children during the summer.
This money will be used to pay for children in low income families to attend Active8 sessions at Marlborough Leisure Centre during the school summer holidays. Dr Janneke Blokland will help co-ordinate the project and will take part in its evaluation.
MAPAG’s latest meeting also noted that a new youth and family worker, Blayze White, has been appointed on a two year contract, paid for by St Mary’s Church, to work with families in the Marlborough area.
MAPAG’s next meeting is on Monday, September 5 at 7.30 at the Friends Meeting House.
