They queued for LitFest tickets to make sure of an audience with David Walliams

See below for later news... Tickets for Marlborough LitFest 2018 went on sale this morning (July 11) at 9.00am - and soon after 8.00am the first people were queuing along Chandlers Yard beside the White Horse Bookshop.

The tickets were being sold in the bookshop's gallery and with only a finite number of seats for the TWO sessions of the David Walliams Live Event on Sunday, September 30, many children had persuaded and/or cajoled their parents to get there early - and queue, queue, queue.

First out of the White Horse Bookshop with his tickets was Andy Gardener - he had chosen the afternoon live event.

For those who missed the experience of queuing early on a Wednesday morning, there are three ways to buy tickets:

  •  Online - via the website and Pound Arts, www.marlboroughlitfest.org/tickets
  •  By phone - through Pound Arts telephone 01249 701628 or 01249 712618 (opens at 10am)
  •   In person - at the White Horse Bookshop, 136 High Street, Marlborough.
Payment for tickets at the White Horse Bookshop is by cash or cheque only.

The full events listing is now available on the LitFest website

The White Horse Bookshop very quickly sold out of its allocation of Walliams tickets.  The Pound website kept crashing due to over-demand.  But as of 10.00am very patient people were still buying tickets through The Pund site...
