Hospital friends give grant to physiotherapy department
Pete Davison - 22/06/2011
The physiotherapy department at Savernake Hospital has received a grant from the Friends of Savernake Hospital. With it they have been able to buy a range of equipment which will improve the quality of the physiotherapy for patients on the Ailesbury Ward at the hospital.
From laminated charts to leg weights, from bolsters to touch balls, the Physiotherapy team now has a rich choice of quality aids to use with their patients.
Janice Clay, Physiotherapist, said: “With the equipment we’ve been able to buy thanks to the Friends, we’ll be able to really improve the quality of exercises.”
The physiotherapy team feels they’ll be much more efficient too. Some of the new equipment can be used without supervision, which means that more patients can be helped in the time available to them.
The Friends of Savernake Hospital have recently awarded Grants to Marlborough Talking Newspaper, Burbage Surgery, Pewsey Surgery, Prospect Hospice, and Marlborough, Pewsey, Bedwyn and the Collingbournes Link schemes.
