History is about to repeat itself at Marlborough’s Merchant’s House, one the 17th century home of rich silk mercer Thomas Bayly at a lecture presented by volunteer seamstress Angela Munn.
She has research and made a display in the panelled room at the restored High Street property of the underclothes and finished gown and accessories worn by the merchant’s wife, Katherine Bayly.
And with illustrated quotes taken from personal accounts in letters and journals of the time she is now to give a lecture on the subject at the The Merchant’s House, at 7pm on March 14.
