Marlborough LINK - Volunteer Drivers and Co-ordinators
Marlborough LINK - Volunteer Drivers and
Marlborough link is a charity run entirely by volunteers which aims to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged residents in our community, whether elderly, poor, or disabled or those who just feel isolated and lonely.
We offer a free and confidential service providing transport to the Doctor, Hospital, Surgery or Dentist.
We also provide lifts to clients so they can get their shopping done or to go to the Library Hairdresser or a Social Visit.
Although the service is free we appreciate a donation to help cover our costs from everyone we help. As always the quality of the service we can offer depends on our volunteer drivers and co-ordinators and we are always on the lookout for more drivers and co-ordinators so we can improve and increase what we do.
We try to ensure that no one driver or co-ordinator is overwhelmed and can enjoy their own lives and that their commitment to Link is set at a level that they find acceptable. Except in emergencies we expect 48 hours notice of when you need our help.
Nothing ever stands still!! So we are looking for ways to improve our service including computerizing the booking and recording system and any one who is computer literate (or at any rate familiar with computers) who feels they may be able to help with co-ordinating in particular would be particularly welcome.
