UK's biggest ever climate change lobby

Written by Jo Ripley on .

There are a number of people going to Westminster from the Devizes constituency to join thousands of others from around the country this Wednesday, June 17 for a mass lobby of Parliament.
I and others contacted our MP, Claire Perry awhile ago (some of us more than once) to ask to meet her, both to express our concern about the urgency of the problem and to ask for commitments from the Government to make the much-needed changes necessary for a low-carbon future.
Surprisingly Claire Perry has not responded (clearly I can’t speak for everyone) – something she usually does – and yet she professes to care about this issue. While I appreciate she will be busy person, I would have expected a response, even if that was an apology, and an opportunity for her to reiterate that she does share the concerns of very many people and a large number of NGOs that will be represented at the lobby.
We will be taking bunting made up of hundreds of coloured flags from Marlborough for Claire Perry, each one signed people expressing that they care about climate change.
