Marlborough Jazz Festival: how to make it good for everyone

Written by Audrey Peck on .

Sirs
Of course the Jazz Festival was marvellous, as usual.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Friday evening stroller tickets.  Of course the local bands are really good.

Congratulations to all those who encourage our young musicians.

I know one popular shop, especially useful to older residents, which lost more than £1,000 of business that Saturday. Even longtime local people don't realise that closing the small length of road between the Town Hall and Majestic Wine has such a negative impact on shops, market stalls and bus time tables.

If the Jazz Committee would relocate the bandstand by High Walls (opposite Pino's) to one of several other possible sites and keep the A4 free for through traffic perhaps the weekend could be good for everyone!
