Hiscox Insurance brings a breath of refreshing cool air to the passengers on the Kennet Community Transport bus
The familiar white Kennet Community Transport minibus, a regular sight around Marlborough and the villages has suddenly gained a large hump on it's roof. Thanks to Hiscox Insurance all those who use the service will be able to enjoy their journeys in air conditioned luxury.
Five days a week it brings people to the Jubilee Centre on the High Street and then takes them home again, as well as providing a service to those with disabilities and restricted mobility to and from the New Road Centre.
It's extremely busy clocking up around fifteen thousand passenger journeys every year, which means a large number of trips as the bus only takes sixteen passengers when full.
'A breath of fresh air' exclaimed driver Roly Lockey when asked what the addition of the air conditioning would bring. 'No more misty windows, and no more poor pasengers cooking in the back of the bus on a hot summer day' he added.
'A great thanks to Hiscox Insurance for making this possible' said Alexander Kirk Wilson, chair of Kennet Community Transport who provide the bus. 'We wouldn't of been able to do this without Hiscox' he added, 'we're a small charity, funds are very limited but we have excellent support from many local businesses, organisations, day centres, voluntary donations and also a small amount from Wiltshire Council. It's a service that provides a real lifeline to many of our passengers who would be lost without it'.
