Seven fire crews from across the area were called to Burbage this morning (Wednesday) to tackle a blaze at a farmhouse.
No-one was hurt in the blaze at the six-bedroom Kinwardstone Farm, which was being renovated. It is understood the owners were hoping to move in in the new year.
The fire service received a call to the blaze on Grafton Road at 6.50am after a passer-by saw flames.
Crews from Pewsey, Marlborough, Andover, Swindon, Newbury, and Swindon attended. At one point there were six pumps, two water carriers, and a command unit. An ambulance was also in attendance.
It is understood that the property has suffered extensive damage to its first floor and roof. It is not yet known where in the house the fire started, or why.
- Neighbour Fay Toombs has started a collection for a bouquet for the owners of the property. Anyone who wishes to donate can find her at Church House, East Grafton, behind St Nicholas Church.
