Parking taken to new heights of silliness in Marlborough
You know how it is – you’re cruising Marlborough High Street looking for a spot right outside Waitrose. If one appears, you squeeze into it.
Photographer Grant Waller captured this scene this morning: a Nissan Micra displaying a disabled driver’s blue badge completely wedged in by the drivers of a Honda CRV and an Audi.
Whoever was there last, you can be sure it wasn’t the Micra driver.
Rule 239 of the Highway Code states: “Do not stop too close to a vehicle displaying a Blue Badge: remember, the occupant may need more room to get in or out.”
There’s no rule stipulating how far, generally, you should park from the car in front or behind: drivers are expected to use common sense and decency.
