Marlborough's new primary school: public consultation event will show proposed design
The construction company chosen by the Department for Education to build Marlborough's new primary school - combining St Mary's Infants and St Peter's Juniors on one site - is holding a public consultation event at St Mary's Infant School on Tuesday, January 26 between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
The designs for the new school will be on show. The new school will be on land east of the current St Mary's buildings.
Kier Construction have issued invitations for the consultation to local residents - including homes nearby in George Lane and Ducks Meadow - and notices about the event have been placed in the library and shops around the town.
Representatives of the contractor, their design team and school staff will be there to answer questions - and there will be forms available for written comments.
It is now expected that the planning application to Wiltshire Council will be lodge early in February - once responses to the consultation have been analysed.
This consultation confirms that the financing of the new single storey school has been agreed between the government and Wiltshire Council. The new school is expected to be fully operational in September 2017.
