Olive the missing chicken is reunited with her owners - thanks to Maggie Lowry and Marlborough News Online

A happy young O'Shaughnessy with OliveA happy young O'Shaughnessy with OliveOlive the missing chicken has been reunited with her owners - and the whole O'Shaughnessy family is overjoyed that their pet is safely home again.

As Marlborough News Online reported on Friday (January 29), Maggie Lowry found the bird on Thursday evening in her garden at Gales Ground near the Roebuck pub.  Having put it in a shed for safety, next day she took it to a wildlife rescue centre near Cricklade.

Olive's owner, Marie O'Shaughnessy, posted a missing notice on a couple of Marlborough Facebook groups.  One was spotted by Marlborough News Online's Marina Rae who passed on the link to our report.

Marie O'Shaughnessy says: "I would just like to thank you all at Marlborough News Online for helping to reunite us with our pet chicken Olive. We woke up on Friday morning to find her missing. Our other chicken Helga was frantically searching our garden for her."

"Thankfully on Saturday morning I had a notification on the post saying a lady called Maggie Lowry had found her and taken her to The Oak and Furrows Wildlife Rescue Centre. So a massive 'thank you' to Maggie for going out of her way and also for contacting Marlborough News Online."

"Our Children were so happy to have her home."
