Traffic chaos is over… for now
Temporary traffic lights that brought misery to hundreds of motorists over the past couple of days have come down… but perhaps not for long.
Wiltshire Council workmen installed a four-way traffic flow system at Marlborough’s busiest junction – the double mini roundabout where Salisbury Road, London Road and George Lane meet – on Thursday.
Examination cameras were put down the drains ahead of resurfacing works on the A346 Salisbury Road.
But the resulting jams meant that motorists had to queue for up to an hour to cross the town centre. Country roads were also affected as locals sought out alternative routes.
Marlborough News Online is making enquiries into when the Salisbury Road works will start, how long they will last, and what traffic flow measures will be put in place.
