Fatal Collision near to Savernake Hospital yesterday - 9 June - Police appealing for witnesses

Floral tributes at the scene of the accidentFloral tributes at the scene of the accidentA woman pedestrian from Swindon has died following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Marlborough, near Savernake Hospital, yesterday evening (Thursday 9 June).

The incident happened at 5.30pm on the A4;  two cars (blue BMW 328 and yellow Seat Leon Cupra) were travelling towards Froxfield when the BMW left the carriageway and collided with the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was in her fifties.  Next of kin have been informed.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released on conditional bail.  They are 24 and 27-years-old and are both from the Marlborough area.
