The woman killed as she was walking on the pavement along side the A4, near Savernake Hospital, on Thursday afternoon has been named by Police.
Jane Thompson, 54, was from the Redhouse area of Swindon.
The incident happened at around 5.30pm on Thursday. Two cars, a blue BMW 328 and yellow Seat Leon Cupra, were travelling towards Froxfield when the BMW left the carriageway and collided with the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released on conditional bail. They are 24 and 27-years-old and are both from the Marlborough area.
Wiltshire Police are still investigating the collision and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
