Wiltshire CCG's Chief Finance Officer will leave to take up new NHS role
Simon Truelove, the Chief Finance Officer at Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group, will be leaving the organisation in September 2016 to take up the post of Chief Finance Officer at NHS Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership Trust (AWP), which is based in Chippenham.
Mr Truelove, who has held the post since the CCG took over commissioning health services for the county in 2012, will continue as Interim Chief Officer at Wiltshire CCG from 1 July until September, following the departure of Debbie Fielding.
She leaves Wiltshire at the end of this month to take up a Chief Executive post in Essex.
Recruitment plans for both posts are underway. Dr Peter Jenkins, Chairman of Wiltshire CCG said: “Simon’s passion for the NHS is instantly recognisable to anyone who meets him and he will be much missed."
"NHS finances are challenged as never before and it's testament to his drive and dedication that the CCG produced and successfully delivered a financial recovery programme which saw the CCG achieve a £5.5million surplus [for 2015-16] in line with planned target."
Marlborough.News understands that Mr Truelove is keen to work for a health care provider rather than continue in a commissioning role. And he was considering a move before Ms Fielding resigned.
These changes to Wiltshire CCG's senior executive line-up come at a time when CCGs across England are taking part in drafting the new Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs.)
In Wiltshire's case this involves working primarily with Swindon and BANES CCGs and the three acute hospitals in Bath, Salisbury and Swindon.
