"Oyez" Town Crier Mike Tupman in full shout"Oyez" Town Crier Mike Tupman in full shoutIf anyone came across a lonely black Samsung Galaxy S3 at last weekend’s Jazz Festival it could have been the Town Crier, Mike Tupman’s lost phone.

Mike lost it during the afternoon, between 2 and 4pm on the Saturday (16 July) somewhere in the High Street area.

“It’s got a lot of pics that I don’t have backed up” said Mike. “The screensaver is of my twin granddaughters, and there are loads of other irreplaceable family pics and, of course, of Bob the Dog, my black and white Jack Russell”.

“Also all my contacts, it may be only a phone but it means so much more” he added.

“I don’t need a phone up to about 150 metres” he stated. “People can hear what I say pretty well down the High Street, but beyond that it get’s a bit difficult” he pointed out.  Even the centuries old traditional communication role of Town Cryer needs a bit of help from modern technology.

If you have found the phone, or know someone who might have picked it up please call either Mike on his landline - 01672 810720 or the Town Council office on 01672 512487, or bring it in to the Council offices at 5 High Street.

“Very happy to give anyone who finds it a free ‘Shout’ of thanks from the Town Hall steps” said Mike, “it would mean so much to get those pics back”.
