Plenty of knocks, scrapes and strains to be dealt withPlenty of knocks, scrapes and strains to be dealt withIt’s a bit more than just running on to the pitch and attending to the prone player with a ‘magic sponge’ that miraculously cures the hurt from the knock that put them there in the first place.

The Physio role will require on-pitch attendance, but also giving much needed massage and application of strapping before games as well as attending to all the injuries incurred during a match once the final whistle has gone.

It’s about keeping the players able to play to the best of their abilities.

Marlborough’s 1st XV are about to embark on a challenging season in the Southern Counties South league whilst the 2nd XV, the Alfreds Nomads, will be campaigning in the Dorset & Wilts 3 North league.

Marlborough is a busy and thriving club:  two main senior teams to be kept fit along with the six Junior age group teams and of course, the Mini Rugby teams covering age groups from under 11 down to under 6.  A large number of players to be kept fit and match ready across a long winter season which kicks off in a few weeks time on 10 September when the 1st XV travel to take on North Dorset.

Keep in touch with Marlborough’s progress through the season here on Marlborough.news, we will be carrying reports of all the 1st XV games in the ‘Sport’ section.
