Four Marlborough projects compete for grant

St Mary's Under Fives, Marlborough Jazz Festival, an intergeneration community initiative and a Kennet Valley Driving Group scheme for adults with disabilities are up for a public vote to win a £6,000 grant.

The four Marlborough projects are competing against thirty-seven others in the Swindon region in the Natwest CommunityForce programme.

St Mary's Under Fives is a free community preschool who are moving to a new building and need new indoors and outdoors equipment.

Marlborough Jazz Festival (through Marlborough Arts Association) want to work with schools and support young musicians.

Wiltshire Global Education Centre (Marlborough Brandt Group) would like to enable the local elderly to share their stories of how to cope in times of austerity with local sixth formers.

Kennet Valley Driving Group (part of Riding or the Disabled), who teach adults with disabilities how to drive a horse drawn carriage, are moving to a new home which needs essential modification.

Hundreds of local charities across the England and Wales are up for a public vote across 140+ regions. Each region has three awards of £6,000 to give away to the projects that get the most votes.

To vote, visit communityforce.natwest.com. Voting ends 23 October
