Woman killed beside A4 near Savernake Hospital in June: two men charged with causing death by dangerous driving

The two men arrested at the scene of the accident in which a woman was killed in June beside the A4 near Savernake Hospital have now been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Jordan Blake (24) from Congleton, Cheshire, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.  He has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court on February 24.
 
Alexander May (27) from Swans Close, Ramsbury, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.   He has been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court on February 24.

Jane Thompson, aged 54, was from the Redhouse area of Swindon. She was hit as she walked along the footpath beside the A4 at around 5.30pm on Thursday, June 9. She was the receptionist to the neighbourhood health team based at Savernake Hospital.

Two cars, a blue BMW 328 and yellow Seat Leon Cupra, were travelling towards Froxfield when the BMW left the road and collided with Ms Thompson who was pronounced dead at the scene.
