Old faces become new faces as Elaine's Travel launches on the High Street
At 9:00 this morning (Monday 27 February) the doors of Elaine's Travel formally opened and those in Marlborough seeking travel advice and/or a great last minute deal to somewhere exotic could come in and talk to Elaine and Sarah - again.
Elaine Ferry was, for many years the manager of Robin's Travel, next door to Waitrose. In January she and Sarah Childs left to set up their own expert travel specialist and, the only suitable premises available were next door-but-one to Waitrose, or more precisely, next door to Robin's Travel.
Elaine's Travel will specialise in both retail and business travel. Elaine's great experience is in the retail area, whilst Sarah offers a broad experience of business and corporate travel, having spent many years providing travel expertise to many organisations including the BBC where she specialised in sending the BBC Wildlife teams based in Bristol all over the world to create their stream of award-winning wildlife programmes.
"it was time to move on, to have the freedom to provide customers with refreshing new travel opportunities" explained Elaine. "And the only way to do this was to set up on our own."
As well as a visit to Elaine and Sarah at 'Elaine's Travel', customers can meet them at a series of regular travel evenings they will be holding with the first, on 23 March at the Town Hall where as well as enjoying drinks and canapes customers will be shown a presentation by Viking Cruises. "These 'Travel Evenings' will be themed" explains Elaine. "The first is about Viking Cruises, their routes (Ocean and River), their ships, and what cruisers can expect." "Others will follow, each themed to a particular area or Tour Operator."
"We aim to provide customers with everything to suit their budget and hopes for a holiday" said Elaine. "Tell us your holiday dream or referred destination and we can help turn that into reality at a competitive price."
