Two men arrested at the scene of an accident in which a woman was killed have denied causing her death by dangerous driving.
At Salisbury Crown Court this morning (Wednesday) Jordan Blake (24) of Ogbourne St George and Alexander May (27) of Ramsbury were jointly charged with causing the death of hospital receptionist Jane Thompson on the A4 near Savernake Hospital on June 9 last year, whilst May was driving a BMW 328 and Blake was driving a Seat Leon Cupra.
Both May and Blake pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. A date for their trial – which is expected to last for up to two weeks, and could hear from as many as twenty witnesses and experts – was set for December 4.
They were released on bail on the condition that they do not, directly or indirectly, contact witnesses. Doing so could result in a further charge of interfering with witnesses, warned Judge Andrew Barnett.
