With the Big Give Christmas Challenge donations to local charity Action Through Enterprise can be doubled
Action Through Enterprise (ATE) is a small Ramsbury-based charity fighting poverty in Upper West Ghana. From next Tuesday (November 26) and for the following week, donations ATE needs to help these children and to help their parents start enterprises to earn money, can attract match-funding that doubles their value.
Some of the children in this forgotten corner of Ghana eat as little as just four meals a week. Through the provision of free school lunches, ATE is encouraging 944 children into school each day.
The guarantee of a daily nutritious meal gives children the strength to focus in class, nourishment for growth and development, but importantly, it enables them to complete their education and have a brighter future.
This year ATE has been selected to join the UK's biggest online match funding campaign: The Big Give Christmas Challenge. It is an opportunity to double donations and to help raise £4,200 for the charity's well-established school feeding programme.
The challenge starts on #GivingTuesday - that's November 28 - and runs for one week only. Donations made at ATE's fundraising page on the Big Give website during this time period will be doubled by special contributors.
Quick guide to giving through The Big Give Christmas Challenge:
• When? From midday on Tuesday 28th November until midday on Tuesday 5th December
• Where? Only donations made through ATE's unique Big Give page can be match funded
• How? Special contributors have agreed to match fund the first £2,100 of donations during the Big Give.
