Owner Mac Leadbitter has been organising the Christmas art competition for several years now. There are two age categories for entrants, 4-7 years and 8-11 years.  Judged by local artist Elizabeth Bicknell, the winners have been announced.

Macie aged 5, won first prize in the 4-7 years category for her Christmas tree, complete with brightly coloured baubles and presents. “I really like colouring,” she said.

First prize in the 8-11 years category was won by Jessica aged 8. Her picture depicts Christmas bauble decorated with a snowman, stars and snow.

The children are all pupils at St Mary’s Marlborough where they will be presented with a certificate and a prize in the New Year.  However, Mac is so pleased with the number of entries, nearly 40, that he has decided to add a special treat.

Mac told marlborough.news, “If all the children who entered would like to come into the shop to collect their art work they will be rewarded with a £1 bag of sweets.”
