Silver Sports Award for Marlborough St Mary’sMarlborough St Mary’s Primary School has been awarded the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year. The award is part of a Government scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, aiming to reward schools for their commitment to the development of Key Stage 2 (KS2) competition across their school and into the community.
This year, one hundred and eleven pupils have competed in local inter-school competitions and nearly fifty percent of KS2 pupils attended an after school club. Marlborough Golf Club have given Year 5 golf lessons. Marlborough Tennis Club have run after school tennis club. Marlborough Youth Football Club Angels have organised taster sessions for their Wild Cats programme.
Anne Schwodler is headteacher: “We are delighted to have been recognised for our success. We are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.”
