G Hatto, the Marlborough barbershop situated on the north side of the High Street, was the target of thieves or vandals early on Monday morning, August 19. Denise Sawyer, Manager of Hattos, arrived at the shop at 8.30 am to find the glass in the front door smashed to smithereens.
“I was shocked to find it. Whoever it was didn’t enter the premises and nothing was taken. We don’t keep any cash on the premises anyway so they wouldn’t have found anything. I called the police but they didn’t come out as there were no fingerprints to be collected.”
The incident follows the recent break-ins at the Costa Coffee shop, also on the north side of the High Street on June 10 when a safe containing a large amount of cash and a laptop was stolen and at County Jewellers in Hughenden Yard on June 12 when the were premises ransacked and a safe also taken.
If anyone has any information about the Hatto incident they should phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
