Aldbourne Band Retain UK Top 20 Status at National Finals in The Albert Hall

Aldbourne Band at the Albert HallAldbourne Band at the Albert HallAldbourne Band achieved 14th place at the National Brass Band Championships that took place in The Albert Hall on Saturday 12 October.

This followed a rousing performance at the British Open Finals in September, when the Band finished in the top ten for the first time ever, and the Aldbourne Band are now firmly established as one of the top twenty Brass Bands in Britain and one of the top trhirty in the World.

make it into the list of the top 20 brass bands in the UK and one of the top 30 bands in the world, Aldbourne have been busy preparing for the finals of the National Brass Band Championships at the Royal Albert Hall, which took place on Saturday 12th October.

At the Albert Hall the band were drawn to play number 11 out of 20.  They band produced another fine performance which was well received by the audience and drew some great comments from the adjudicators.  Fininshing in 14th place meant that they emerged from the competition ahead of world-famous Brass Bands such as the Grimethorpe Colliery Band and the very successful Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band.

Plenty of opportunity to hear the Band perform locally in the coming months, the next opportunity being on Saturday 9 November at 7pm in St Michaels Church, Aldbourne for the 10 Year Anniversary Concert for the Friends of Aldbourne Band.
