The Ladbrokes Trophy The Ladbrokes Trophy There will be a lot more than superb jumps racing over the two days of Newbury racecourse's Ladbrokes Winter Carnival (November 29 & 30).

For one thing there will be the first ever Ladbrokes Gentleman’s Day - on Friday, 29 November giving the gents a chance to strut their fashionable best.  Why should racing just have Ladies Days?

With the return of the biggest day of the jumps season at Newbury Racecourse -  Ladbrokes Trophy Day on the Saturday - racegoers are set to enjoy two great days out soaking up the competitive atmosphere and kicking off their Christmas festivities.

Gentleman's Day will be celebrating the best in 'Peaky' style, in association with Parkway Shopping, Laurent Perrier and Ladbrokes.   Friday gives the gents the perfect chance to channel their inner Thomas Shelby with a smart tweed suit, braces and of course that iconic flat-cap.

On the Saturday, the competition opens to all with the Best Dressed ‘Peaky’ Group. Get your friends and family together and don your finest glad rags to stand a chance of being crowned the best-looking group at the races.

First prize for Gentleman’s Day is a £250 voucher for Dapper Street courtesy of Parkway Shopping. On the Saturday, the Best Dressed ‘Peaky’ Group will be treated to a fully catered box for up to 20 individuals at one of Newbury’s popular Thursday evening race fixtures in 2020.

The lucky winners on both days will also get a huge £250 bet provided by Ladbrokes to be used on the day’s feature race plus a magnum of champagne, generously provided by Laurent Perrier.

Alongside our style-seekers, there is plenty more for young and old - including the new Carnival Marquee in the Grandstand Enclosure where racegoers can listen to expert tipsters before racing with the Punters Panel, enjoy a free ride on the retro carousel and get into the Christmas spirit with an array of delicious food and beverage offerings.

And the partying continues after the last race, with Friday’s after-party featuring local band Uncovered in the Carnival Marquee whilst in Premier, Resident DJ Moonraker will be playing all the hits on the Winter Garden Terrace. On Saturday, racegoers can round off their carnival at the exclusive after-party featuring The Radio Kings, followed by a DJ set.

The carnival culminates with one of the most historical races in the country, the Ladbrokes Trophy, a race won by many greats including Denman, Many Clouds and more recently, Native River. Worth an impressive £350,000, this is a race where legends are made.

Harriet Collins is a director at Newbury Racecourse:  “We are excited for the return of the Ladbrokes Winter Carnival to Newbury Racecourse for the third year. The new Ladbrokes Gentlemen’s Day is an exciting addition to the weekend, whilst the Ladbrokes Trophy looks to be as competitive as ever. There really is something for everyone to enjoy across the weekend.”

Tickets are available at the early booking price until Monday 4 November through newburyracecourse.co.uk or through the Box Office on 01635 40015.
