Man jailed for selling Class A drugs in Marlborough

Ilry Hysa, sentenced to 28 months in jail for supplying drugs in MarlbroughIlry Hysa, sentenced to 28 months in jail for supplying drugs in MarlbroughA man has been jailed for over two years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.   Ilir Hysa, 47, of Wembley, appeared in Swindon Crown Court on February 14 and was sentenced to a total of 28 months imprisonment.

On January 10, officers conducted enquiries at an address in Marlborough due to concerns relating to drug activity at the premises.   A Volkswagen Passat was seen to arrive at the address before a suspected drug deal took place.

Further enquiries were conducted which established that the vehicle had been making regular journeys into the county via the M4 from the Thames Valley area.  The vehicle was again seen to enter Marlborough on January 13 and was stopped by officers.

Hysa was found to be the driver of the vehicle – he was detained and his vehicle was searched.  Whilst sat in the rear of the police vehicle, he was seen to throw an item onto the floor which was found to be a plastic bag containing 35 bags of cocaine.

Sgt Pete Foster said: “The drugs located were found to have an estimated street value of approximately £2,000.  His mobile phone was also analysed as part of our enquiries and was found to have messages indicating that he had been involved in multiple ‘drugs drops’ in the area since the middle of December.

“I am pleased that he has been given a custodial sentence - we will not tolerate illegal drug activity in our county and we will conduct all enquiries necessary to identify those involved in the supply of drugs.

“If you have any information relating to drug activity in your neighbourhood, please report it via 101 so action can be taken.”

As well as the prison sentence, Hysa was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £181.
