Marlboroughs on ‘both sides of’the pond’ featured in the Town Hall yesterday (20 February) as Marlborough (UK)’s Mayor, Mervyn Hall, showed an exchange group of Marlborough (US) Scouts and their families around the Town Hall.
The Town Hall tour is one part of a long-standing exchange relationship between the two Marlboroughs, now in its third decade, and responds to the 2018 visit by (our) Marlborough Rangers to over there, when they were entertained by the Massachusetts Marlborough Mayor, Arthur G Vigeant at his office in the City.
The 2018 trip was helped by a grant from The Town Council and on their return they gave a presentation about their visit to New England at the following Annual Town Meeting.
Our visitors were delighted to see plenty of acknowledgements of Marlborough Mass. in the Town Hall, along with similar items from other Marlboroughs around the globe. As well as Marlborough, the Massachusetts Scouts group also spent time visiting London and Paris.
