Emergency services have been called after a canal boat sank on the Kennet and Avon canal near Marlborough.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance, the fire service and police were called to Wootton Rivers when a vessel became stuck at Cadley Lock at around 11am today (Tuesday).
Fire crews from Marlborough and Pewsey, along with a specialist water rescue team from Stratton, Swindon, attended the incident.
A man and his female partner were able to climb up ladders lowered by fire crews, but an older woman had to be rescued by firefighters in an inflatable boat. Two dogs were also rescued.
“It rapidly took on water and subsequently the boat sank,” said a police spokesman. “The family on board are all unharmed, and were checked over by paramedics at scene.”
