A proposal for the Marlborough Business Park roundabout to be sponsored by Tesco – it will enable them to put up advertising signs on posts – is to be considered by Wiltshire Council.
This follows the initial agreement of the Amenities and Open Spaces Committee of Marlborough town council, through whom such applications have to be initially made.
But Helen Pickett, Wiltshire’s highway management technician, has warned: “Be aware that because posts will need to be placed on the roundabout, I will need to undertake statutory utility investigations.
“This can take up to two to three months as utilities can drag their heels. The licence (permission) is free of charge and lasts for 10 years at which time it can be renewed.”
