Marlborough Community Choir has won a grant of £951 towards the costs of its free evening of Christmas music in December.
The grant was voted through at Tuesday’s (September 25) meeting of the Marlborough Area Board. Most of the money will be used for the event’s sound and lighting systems.
Supporting the award, Wiltshire Councillor Nicholas Fogg said the choir was going from strength to strength and recalled that they had sung at the Jazz Festival’s service in July.
The choir’s Town Hall concert on December 18 will raise funds for Home-Start Kennet and the Jubilee Centre.
