At an extraordinary general meeting last week (October 11), the Marlborough Brandt Group elected three new trustees.
They are Dr Patrick Hazlewood, Headteacher at St John’s Academy; Robert Hiscox, Chief Executive of Hiscox Insurance; and Sarah Giles, a solicitor with experience of charity law.
They join Geoffrey Findlay, a onetime chairman of MBG, Theresa Ardley, the treasurer, and Anna Quarendon, the Group’s chair.
Anna Quarendon expressed her delight at being able to welcome to the Group these three particular members of the Marlborough community.
She said that Dr Hazlewood’s presence on the board wouild bring greater opportunities for collaboration with St John’s, especially with those students studying for the International Baccalaureate. And that Robert Hiscox would help them strengthen and extend MBG’s work with the private sector – such as the current scheme with Lloyds TSB giving young employees the opportunity to spend time in Gunjur, The Gambia, to assist in their professional and personal development.
