Yew tree lights to brighten up Marlborough with Christmas sparkle
Christmas lights in Marlborough, due for a November 29 switch on this year, will have an added attraction.
The huge Yew tree in the grounds of St Mary’s Church is to be covered with a shower of 400 lights to brighten up the entrance to the High Street, an event planned for last year but which didn’t happen in the end.
“The tree is going to be given a haircut first,” members of the town council’s Amenities and Open Spaces Committee were told last night (Monday) by chairman Councillor Richard Pitts.
“That’s all thanks to the fantastic cp-operation of Wheelers, the firm that puts up the High Street lights display.”
