Dog owners warned - sheep are grazing on Martinsell Hill
Sheep farmer Tim White has put part of his flock back onto Martinsell Hill for winter grazing - and he is telling owners and walkers not to let their dogs attack the sheep.
Martinsell Hill is a popular place for dog walkers who often come a long way to take advantage of its open grass areas. They need to be grazed by the sheep to maintain the unique downland turf.
Tim White has used Facebook to give this general warning: "We suffered some horrendous attacks on sheep last year resulting in a few deaths and lots of suffering. Please keep your dogs on leads."
"I will not be issuing warnings, dogs chasing sheep will be dealt with severely and owners prosecuted."
