Neighbourhood Plan to delve into town's parking problems

Written by Tony Millett on .

The top two land use issues raised by residents during the Marlborough Area Neighbourhood Plan (MANP) consultation process were affordable homes and car parking in the town.

To address the parking issue, Town Councillors have agreed that the MANP team can spend £2,000 of the sum set aside for the Plan in the Town Council's budget on a car parking study.  However, this study may qualify for external funding from the Locality Fund.

This study will be carried out by Mike King who three years ago did a similar study for the Council's 'benchmarking project'.  The project's full report can be read here.  The Car Parking Study is at pages 16 & 17 and also features in the Town Centre Survey from page 24 onwards.
