Empty chairs at town council planning meeting

The meeting of Marlborough Town Council's planning committee on Monday evening (March 13) found itself inquorate - short of three committee members.

Some non-voting matters were aired.  But the press never got to hear Wiltshire Council's response to Marlborough councillors' request to be involved in the future of the St Peter's School building (which will be empty from September) and detailed planning for the Salisbury Road development (now sold by the Crown Estate to Redrow Homes.)

And Marlborough councillors did not get the chance to discuss that response.

Also on the agenda - and now postponed till the next meeting of the committee - was the application to close The Parade to traffic between 10.00am and 7.30pm for the Marlborough Community Passion Play on Saturday, April 15.
