Marlborough Quakers to dissect 'the economy'
'The economy, stupid' was the every day reminder Bill Clinton's campaign strategist kept on his desk in 1992. Made a little easier on the ear as 'It's the economy, stupid' - the phrase is still used to underline the central importance in modern politics of...yes, the economy.
Marlborough's Quakers are launching a weekly reading and discussion group to delve into what 'the economy' really is and what it can and cannot be made to do for us. They will also be asking whether there can be such a thing as 'The New Economy'.
The group will meet on six Tuesday evenings starting with an introductory session on January 9 in the Jubilee Centre in Marlborough High Street - 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Each session is included in the marlborough.news What's On calendar.
