Marlborough and Fairtrade - the next generation
The Marlborough Fairtrade Group is looking ahead. It has been very active in getting Fairtrade status for Marlborough in 2016, in hosting a Fairtrade tea farmer from Kenya during Fairtrade fortnight in 2017 (he gave a well appreciated presentation in Marlborough Town Hall), and in encouraging more retail outlets in the town to stock Fairtrade products.
They have worked with the Town Council, Schools and Churches to ensure that Fairtrade tea, coffee, sugar and so on, is served at their meetings and in their canteens.
Now the group is planning ahead and is looking for new and preferably younger members to join the group. They are particularly keen to find people with international development experience - such as returned VSO volunteers living locally.
