Road works alert: A345 closures south of MarlboroughWiltshire Council has announced 'substantial road works' on the A345 through Clench Common to the top of Oare Hill - this will mean the road will be closed to all traffic for two days from March 15.
The closure is for resurfacing, surface dressing and road markings over about 3.12 kilometres of the A345 from its junction with Manton Drove to the Huish Hill turn off at the top of Oare Hill.
The signed diversion will be via the A346 through Collingbourne Ducis, Upavon and Pewsey. Access will be maintained for residents - with probable delays.
If the weather is bad, the two-day closure may need to be extended.
There is obviously a rolling programme of resurfacing along the A345: this road will also be closed through Oare on March 8 - for an unknown period - and between Upavon and Netheravon from March 12. Also from March 12, the A345 will be closed between Pewsey and North Newnton.
