Mayor Mervyn Hall’s Charity Lecture, held last Friday evening (16 March) at the Town Hall raised £928.30 in aid of his nominated charities – Home Start Kennet and Julia’s House.
Entitled ‘The Awkward Place of WW1 in German History’, historian Michal Hart (formerly Head of History at Shrewsbury School and Headmaster of Mill Hill School) wrote this lecture specifically for the centenary of the Armistice later this year. Michael is one of the most popular tutors at Marlborough Summer School, leading discussions on a wide variety subjects, of both historical and current interest.
