Wiltshire Council’s controversial sale to a developer of the public amenity land off Rabley Wood View is getting much closer. Thirty-nine homes are to be built on the land.
Work on a land survey is underway – checking water table levels and for any contamination below the surface. This work is being overseen by Carter Jonas.
Alerted to this work by nearby residents, Councillor Stewart Dobson has discovered that the land will be advertised for sale within a matter of weeks – late May or early June.
The play area on this amenity land is leased from Wiltshire Council by Marlborough Town Council – which also owns the play equipment. So far no notice to terminate this licence has been received.
