Those who queued early at the White Horse Bookshop for David Walliams tickets were the wise ones – though the tickets allocated for sale there soon ran out.
But there was trouble with LitFest’s ticket agency The Pound Arts Trust of Corsham. Such was the demand for online bookings – mainly, of course, for tickets to the two David Walliams Live Events – that their system crashed.
Some people trying to book appear to have lost their money – and have complained on social media about the problems. Pound Arts have promised their money will be returned within 24 hours.
People affected by this problem can email box.office@poundarts.org.uk
Pound Arts are trying to keep their phone lines open for bookings to other LitFest events – none of which were sold out on Wednesday (July 11).
A waiting list for David Walliams tickets has been set up and anyone wanting to join it should email their full name, contact telephone number and number of tickets required and whether for the morning or afternoon performance to the above email address.
