Marlborough's new cinema: work should start in Spring 2019Planning permission was granted in April to convert the old Chapel in The Parade into a cinema and arts centre.
The plans specified a cinema seating about 100 people and a cafe seating about 20 people. The conversion is not straightforward as the Chapel's gallery is Listed and care has to be taken to insulate the neighbouring home from noise and vibration.
Since planning permission came through more work has been undertaken to understand in detail of how the installation will take place. This has involved input from the architect, engineer and acoustic specialist and the builder who has been appointed to take the project forward.
It is anticipated that work on the conversion will start in the spring of 2019.
