GWH’s charity – Brighter Futures – has launched an £80,000 appeal to upgrade maternity services and make them more patient-centred.
The Marlborough organisation Friends of Savernake Hospital and the Community have kick-started the new Better Births Appeal with a donation of £10,000. The funds will provide three key pieces of equipment – cots, a special bed and foetal monitors.
Eight moveable cots will help post-caesarean section mothers to get closer to their babies, an adjustable bed will allow mothers to give birth in different positions, and four wireless foetal monitors will check on mothers in labour wherever they are in the hospital.
