Following the retirement of Peter Chambers, Caroline Knighton has been appointed as Headteacher of Baydon St Nicholas.  She started in her new post on Septmber 1.

Caroline was previously the Deputy Head at St Michael’s in Aldbourne and played a key role in the growing success of the school.

Prior to this, Caroline Knighton taught in a large primary school in Swindon: “I am very pleased and excited to have been appointed as the Head at Baydon and am much looking forward to working with the children, staff, governors and community in and around Baydon.   The school is poised to take advantage of many opportunities and I look forward to developing these with the excellent team already in place.”

Lesley Whelan, Chair of Governors, said: “the Governors are delighted to have appointed Caroline as we are certain that she will be able to build on the excellent work of the previous Head, Peter Chambers."

"Caroline’s breadth of experience across all three sectors means that she brings many skills over and above her excellent teaching ability and knowledge of the education system.”

Before teaching, Caroline Knighton worked for 10 years in the voluntary sector in a variety of charities including BBC Children in Need, having originally qualified as a solicitor in the City of London.
